01 / The project

What I made

I explored F-15 Strike Eagle II as research for a possible modern space-game reinterpretation.

The work includes inspecting the original archives, unpacking compressed DOS executables and documenting what the binaries reveal. The research is real; a finished remake is not part of the result.

02 / Workflow

How it works

01

Inspect the originals

Inventory the archives and identify the executable formats.

02

Unpack and investigate

Use Python tools to unpack LZ91-compressed executables and inspect code and tables.

03

Write down the findings

Separate observed controls and mechanics from ideas for a future game.

03 / Evidence

The work behind it

  • inspect_game.pyArchive and executable inspection tooling.
  • unpack_lz91.pyDecompression tooling for the original executable format.
  • Analysis findingsEvidence, limitations and leads for further investigation.
04 / Status

Where it stands

A hobby research project. No finished remake or playable space-game reinterpretation is claimed, and the original game files are not distributed here.
