01 / The project

What I made

Something Simple is a six-minute vignette built around a small team of capable robot operators. They cook and serve in a conventional kitchen; the humans are heard but not shown.

The project includes a script, a 48-shot plan and working character references. An early appliance-based direction was replaced with independent robots using ordinary equipment.

02 / Workflow

How it works

01

Design the operators

Keep recognizable bodies, fixed joints, grippers and tools that can be held clearly.

02

Test real contact

Show how a robot holds a spatula, handles a plate or reaches a counter.

03

Prepare the film

Carry the accepted designs into scene references, prompts and shot planning.

03 / Evidence

The work behind it

Lineup of the four robot operator designs
Operator lineup / working reference
PASS gripping separate kitchen utensils
Utensil contact / working reference

A utensil fused to an arm, an extra joint, or food that disappears is a failed reference. The production notes preserve those acceptance rules.

  • Script and 48-shot planThe intended six-minute vignette and its scene states.
  • Operator working mastersPASS, RELAY, SPOOL and GLINT design references.
  • Food and contact sheetsToast, plates and utensil handling kept consistent between shots.

Where it stands

Visual development and preproduction. The reference sheets exist; moving manipulation and a completed film remain to be made.
